Whale Sighting - Fri 21st May 2010

Number of Whales Seen : 0

Today True Blue Explorer headed out after a sudden torrential downpour followed by lightening and a thunder clap over the city.

The seas were reported to be not as calm as forecast with a sloppy 1 -2 metre swell with a 15 - 20 knot breeze.

The whales were elusive again today with only one passenger notifying the skipper of a tail fluke sighting. The passenger observed that it appeared to be a very large whale, so this may have been a big bull on his way to the breeding grounds in QLD and with not much time to stop and entertain our passengers! A Black-browed albatross graced the skies and dolphins were sighted for a short time.

We have had reports from Merimbula all the way to Byron Bay of whales travelling north, so we know they're coming!

The passengers were all given a free return cruise voucher.
