Whale Sighting - Sun 6th Jun 2010

Number of Whales Seen : 3

Number of sightings on the 2010 Northern migration so far = 475.

Whales sighted off True Blue vessel Explorer: 23 whales, 220 Offshore or Oceanic Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops truncatus), approx 50 Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops aduncus), 2 Australian Fur Seal. Flocks of Gannets, 20 Black Browed Albatross and plenty of Sea Gulls.

This morning True Blue Explorer and her passengers spotted a single whale just off South Head this whale was quite active performing breaching, fluke up dives, tail slapps and swimming very close to the vessel.

Another pod of 2 were sighted shortly after just a short distance away. They were slowly swimming along and after the juvenille has stopped breaching we picked these up following them as they showed their tail flukes before gracefully diving.
