Whales sighted off True Blue vessel Explorer this season: 66 humpback whales, 2 minke, 220 Offshore or Oceanic Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops truncatus), approx 62 Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops aduncus), 2 Australian Fur Seal. Flocks of Gannets, 20 Black Browed Albatross and plenty of Sea Gulls.
Glorious conditions on the morning cruise. Half metre swells and no wind.
2 juvenile whales spotted just east of Sydney Heads. 2 more humpback whales were sighted 3 miles east of Bondi.
1 single whale spotted east of Macquarie light house. Fluke up dives were plentiful.
Explorer ventured out in the afternoon sighting a single whale inside the heads. This whale was mulling around just off Manly. We stayed with the inquisitive humpback until Water Police and Maritime came to make sure all vessels avoided the area. Leaving the whale to slowly swim out to sea again. After heading out Explorers skipper and crew found another pod of 2. One performing a FULL BREACH, whilst the other one came within metres of the vessel rolling around with head lunges and tail slaps.
A fantastic day was had by all.
