Whale Sighting - Mon 21st Jun 2010

Whales sighted off True Blue vessel Explorer this season: 78 humpback whales, 2 minke, 220 Offshore or Oceanic Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops truncatus), approx 62 Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops aduncus), 2 Australian Fur Seal. Flocks of Gannets, 20 Black Browed Albatross and plenty of Sea Gulls.

Early into the afternoon cruise, straight off Manly, the Explorer encountered 4 whales in a competition pod.

1 mile in front of the competition pod was a single whale spotted breeching and having a whale of a time.

The seas are good with 1.5m swells & winds South Easterly travelling at 10 knots.
