Number of Whales Seen : 9Whales sighted off True Blue vessel Explorer this season: 144 humpback whales, 2 minke, 220 Offshore or Oceanic Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops truncatus), approx 74 Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops aduncus), 2 Australian Fur Seal. Flocks of Gannets, 20 Black Browed Albatross and plenty of Sea Gulls.
This morning's whale watching cruise were surprised by a pod of 2 whales just inside the heads moments after departure! Shortly after, the True Blue spotted another pod of 2 whales outside the heads. They cruised out alongside the glorious mammals when a single whale joined the pod of 2. With some spectacular fluke up dives and spouting, the True Blue passengers had a wonderful morning.
The whale watching cruise this afternoon spotted one whale gracefully swimming north when surprisingly, another single whale surfaced right next to the boat! The 2 whales joined up and due to their inquisitive nature, started circling the True Blue saying a big hello to our passengers.
