Whale Sighting - Thu 15th Jul 2010

Whales sighted off True Blue vessel Explorer this season: 277 humpback whales, 3 Southern Right, 2 minke, 220 Offshore or Oceanic Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops truncatus), approx 84 Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops aduncus), 20 Common Dolphins, 2 Australian Fur Seal. Flocks of Gannets, 22 Black Browed Albatross, and plenty of Sea Gulls. 4 Fairy Penguins.

3 Humpback Whales spotted 3 mile off Manly.

1 mile further down the whale highway was 2 more active Humpbacks which were breeching and splashing with the occasional spy hop.

On the journey home another 3 were added to the total morning cruise to total of 8.

Conditions average with 1m of chop.
